How is it used?
The patient is placed into the Spec Pak and secured using a series of color-coded torso, leg, and head straps. Once immobilized, the system can be lifted vertically or horizontally using integrated D-ring attachment points. The Spec Pak is compatible with rope rescue systems, tripods, and helicopter hoists. It can be used with or without a rigid backboard, depending on the level of spinal support required. The system allows rescuers to stabilize, lift, and transport patients in challenging environments with minimal movement and maximum safety.
Who uses it?
- Fire departments and technical rescue teams
- Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) units
- Military medics and tactical extraction teams
- Industrial emergency response crews

- Helicopter-based SAR (Search and Rescue) teams
What is it used with?
- Rope rescue systems (vertical and horizontal)
- Tripod or A-frame confined space rescue setups
- Helicopter hoist systems (military and civilian)
- Spine boards (optional for added rigidity)
- Lifting bridles, carabiners, and flotation collars (optional accessories)
