Features

  • High‑Flow Performance: Generates flows up to 670 GPM or more for powerful water movement.
  • Long‑Distance Water Access: Pulls water from static sources up to 250 ft away, ideal when conventional drafting isn’t possible.
  • Versatile Deployment: Effective for tanker/tender fill sites, dewatering, direct fire attack, shallow‑water access, and fire‑ground water management.
  • Rural & Remote Ready: Designed for ponds, streams, lakes, pools, and other difficult‑to‑reach static water supplies.
  • Reliable Operation: Less susceptible to air leaks and limitations of traditional drafting; higher flow potential when using 6” LDH.
  • Durable Construction: Built for demanding fire‑service applications using proven eductor technology.

What Is It?

The TurboDraft™ 5” Fire Eductor is a high‑performance water‑movement device engineered to pull water from distant or difficult‑to‑reach static water sources. Using eductor technology and pump pressure, it provides fire departments with a dependable alternative when hydrants or traditional drafting aren’t feasible.

How Is It Used?

Crews attach a 2.5” supply line and a 5” return line to the eductor, place the unit into the static water source, and charge the line from the pumper. The increased water velocity creates suction, returning a strong flow of water back to the engine. Actual flow performance varies based on hose layout, lift height, and friction loss.

Who Uses It?

  • Rural and municipal fire departments
  • Wildland and forestry firefighting teams
  • Emergency response crews handling remote or low‑infrastructure environments
  • Departments needing tanker shuttle fill capabilities, dewatering, contaminated‑liquid transfer, or alternative water‑supply strategies

What Is It Used With?

  • Standard 2.5” hose line (motive flow)
  • 5” LDH for return flow to the pumper
  • Optional 6” LDH for reduced friction loss and higher GPM
  • Pumpers rated at 1,000 GPM or higher for ideal performance

Maintenance Information

Users should:

  • Inspect couplings, strainers, and housings regularly
  • Rinse any debris after use
  • Perform periodic flow testing using recognized hose‑length and elevation guidelines
  • Ensure hoses and gaskets remain in good condition to maintain airtight operation
