Features

  • Long‑Distance Water Access: Reaches static water sources up to 250 ft away, even when traditional drafting methods cannot access them.
  • Efficient Flow Output: Generates 264 GPM or more, delivering reliable water movement for rural or low‑hydrant‑coverage environments.
  • Versatile Application: Ideal for ponds, lakes, streams, swimming pools, tanker‑shuttle fill sites, dewatering, and emergency rural water supply operations.
  • Rural‑Ready Solution: Designed specifically for departments needing creative options where road access, terrain, or drought conditions limit water availability.
  • Compact & Lightweight: Smaller profile and lighter weight make it extremely easy to deploy with minimal personnel.
  • Eductor‑Based Reliability: Utilizes proven water‑jet eductor technology, offering stable suction, fast setup, and reduced risk of priming failures.

What Is It?

The TurboDraft™ 2.5” Fire Eductor is a compact, high‑performance, eductor‑based device that enables fire departments to draw water from distant or hard‑to‑reach static sources. When hydrants are unavailable or drafting is difficult due to elevation, depth, terrain, or access, this unit provides an effective alternative water supply method especially for rural, volunteer, or small‑crew fire operations.

How Is It Used?

Firefighters connect a 1.5” NST inlet and 2.5” NST outlet to standard fire‑service hose lines, then place the unit into the water source. Charging the line from the pumper creates a pressurized flow that drives the eductor and pulls water back through the return line.

Actual fire flow varies depending on:

  • Hose length
  • Hose friction loss
  • Elevation/lift
  • Hose diameter (higher flows possible with 6” hose)

Field testing is recommended to confirm department‑specific flow performance.

Who Uses It?

  • Rural fire departments
  • Volunteer departments with limited access to municipal hydrants
  • Wildland and forestry firefighting operations
  • Emergency crews needing access to shallow or remote static water sources
  • Agencies conducting tanker shuttle operations or dewatering tasks

Maintenance Information

To ensure reliable operation:

  • Rinse debris from strainer and exterior after each deployment
  • Check hose couplings, threads, and gaskets for wear
  • Verify no obstructions in the nozzle or venturi
  • Conduct periodic flow tests using typical hose layouts
  • Store clean and dry to preserve seals and threading integrity

What Is It Used With?

  • 1.5” hose line (for motive flow into the eductor)
  • 2.5” hose line (for return flow to the pumper)
  • Optional 6” LDH to reduce friction loss and increase maximum usable flow
  • Pumpers rated at 750–1000+ GPM for optimal performance

Material

Although material composition is not specified, the unit is manufactured by Schutte & Koerting, known for industrial‑grade metals, corrosion‑resistant components, and precision‑engineered eductors designed to withstand harsh fire‑service use.
