Safety Features of Tempest Special - Operations Gas Power Blower

Laminar Air Flow (LAF)

The Tempest Special - Operations Gas Power Blower uses a uniquely designed grill and shroud to produce a narrow, high-pressure air pattern called Laminar Air Flow. This design is capable of overcoming high back pressures inside large, complex structures, ensuring uninhibited ventilation

AirFlex Composition Impeller

The impellers are made from fiberglass reinforced polyamide, designed to deliver maximum air volume, velocity, and pressure. These composite blades are safer than traditional metal blades as they disintegrate upon impact with foreign objects, preventing severe injury from fragmented metal

Welded Steel Roll Cage Frame

The blower features a welded steel roll cage frame, structurally engineered to increase the strength-to-weight ratio by up to 30%. This design eliminates the need for continuous maintenance of nuts and bolts and provides protection to all angles and sides of the shroud and motor

Foot-Operated Tilt Adjustment

The foot-operated tilt mechanism allows for quick, easy, and secure adjustment of the blower angle without the need for levers or knobs. This feature ensures safe and efficient positioning during operation, with six tilt positions: +15°, +10°, +5°, 0°, -5°, -10°

Extended Set Back

The blower is effective at a set-back distance of 8.86 to 10.8 meters using Laminar Air Flow, allowing improved personnel access and reducing fan noise heard inside the structure. This extended set-back ensures safe operation while maintaining effective ventilation

Flip-Up/Fold-Down Handle

The full-width handle design makes transporting the blower to and from the ventilation site quick and easy. The handle locks firmly into position when in use and folds down for compact storage, ensuring safe and convenient handling

Grille Design

The powder-coated grille is continuous circular-wound and flat spiral with six tie points for additional safety. This design meets UL and European CE safety standards, ensuring reliable and safe operation
