Features
What is it?
The SEN‑DURE Radiator Heat Exchanger is a closed‑loop cooling device used on fire apparatus to transfer heat from the engine cooling system using water supplied from the fire pump. Instead of mixing pump water with antifreeze, the exchanger uses internal coils to cool engine coolant while keeping the two fluids separate.
How is it used?
The heat exchanger is installed inline between the radiator hoses of the apparatus engine. During pumping operations, water from the fire pump is routed through the exchanger coils, absorbing heat from the engine coolant. The cooled coolant then circulates back through the engine, helping prevent overheating during extended stationary pumping.
Who uses it?
This product is used by fire departments and emergency response agencies operating pumpers or other apparatus that require engine temperature control during sustained fire suppression, drafting, or water supply operations.
