What is it?

The SAC-44-E is a folding wheel chock engineered by Ziamatic Corp to prevent vehicle movement during emergency operations, maintenance, or staging. Designed for use with tires up to 44 inches in diameter, it’s a trusted safety tool for fire apparatus, ambulances, and other large fleet vehicles.

How is it used?

To deploy, unfold the chock and place it snugly against the tire. The double row of rugged teeth grips firm surfaces like concrete or asphalt, preventing rolling or shifting. After use, the chock folds flat and stores easily under running boards or in compartments, minimizing space usage while maximizing safety.

Installation Instructions

To place the Space-Saver Chock:

  1. Release from Holder: Push in on the latch rod on the chock holder with your left hand while grasping the handle grip on the cross bar casting with your right hand.
  2. Lower to Ground: Pull the chock from the holder and lower the front edge of the main casting to the ground while the left hand holds the swing arm casting against the main casting.
  3. Deploy Swing Arm: Place the fingers of your left hand into the handhold cut-out at the top of the main casting. Grasp the bottom corner of the swing arm casting and pull back while lowering the chock to the ground.
  4. Lock in Place: Push down on the cross bar casting until it locks firmly under the latch casting.
  5. Position Under Vehicle: Lift the chock with both hands using the holes in the main casting and the handle on the cross arm, and place it under the vehicle tire.
  6. Secure Against Wheel: Remove your hand from the main casting and slide the chock snugly against the wheel.
