Council Tool
The Council Tool Pulaski Axe is versatile and durable for forestry and general landscaping tasks. This axe features a traditional bit axe blade on one end and a mattock blade for digging or grubbing on the other, making it an essential tool for various outdoor applications.
Features
- Forged Steel Head: The head is made from high-quality 1080 steel, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance. It is hand-sharpened to meet ANSI standards for bit hardness (Rc 45-60) and Council Tool’s internal standards (Rc 53-58).
- Handle: The 36-inch handle is crafted from top-grade American hickory, known for its strength and shock absorption. The eye section is dried to below 10% moisture content to minimize shrinkage and prevent loosening.
- Assembly: The axe head is hydraulically seated onto the handle and secured with a serrated PVC wedge, which improves bite and maintains stability regardless of moisture content. For a secure fit, approximately 1/2 inch of the handle’s overall length is removed during assembly.
- Finish: The body is coated with black enamel, and the cutting edges are treated with clear lacquer to deter rust.
