The PGI Fireline Wildland Gear Coat is expertly crafted to provide superior protection and comfort for wildland firefighters. Made from 6oz. Nomex IIIA, this coat is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of firefighting while ensuring maximum mobility and safety.

Features

  • Alpine-Style Collar: A four-inch high collar that can be worn folded down for ventilation or zipped up to cover the neck completely, offering additional protection from heat and flame without the need for a bulky throat strap or closure system.
  • Hanger Loop: Convenient loop at the neck for easy hanging.
  • Seamless Shoulders: Eliminates bulky seams, allowing maximum mobility and reducing wear and seam pressure under the weight of a pack harness.
  • Durable Zipper: Double pull Zytel FR50 Delrin zipper with Nomex tape, covered by a storm flap with intermittent hook/loop closures for added protection.
  • Radio Pocket: Equipped with a hook/loop flap closure and a microphone holder loop above the pocket flap.
  • Cell Phone Pocket: Located on the right chest with a hook and loop flap closure and a D-ring at the bottom for hanging gloves or gear.
  • Radial Sleeve Design: Allows full arm movement and ensures a “no hike” fit when arms are raised over the shoulders.
  • Articulated Elbows: Promotes freedom of movement and a more contoured fit.
  • Adjustable Cuffs: Incorporates hook/loop tab closure for easy adjustment even when wearing gloves. Partially elasticized wrist allows the cuff to be tightly secured without impeding circulation or movement.
  • Gusseted Cuff: Features a secondary hook/loop strip, allowing the cuff to be opened fully for maximum ventilation or to tuck in glove cuffs.
  • Cargo Hip Pockets: Large pockets with hook/loop flap closures that expand for extra storage capacity and built-in hand warmer compartments. The right cargo pocket includes a 3/4" wide nickel-plated swivel snap hook attached to a 6" self-fabric strap for securing key rings or other valuables.
  • Reflective Trim: 3M™ Scotchlite™ Flame Resistant Retro Reflective Lime/Yellow two-inch wide Triple Trim sewn around the arms, bottom, and across the shoulders in the back.
  • Compliance: U.L. Classified to meet or exceed NFPA 1977 Standard on Protective Clothing and Equipment for Wildland Fire Fighting (Current Edition). Also meets requirements for Cal-OSHA Title 8 GISO Sections 3406 ©(1) and/or 3410(d)(1).
  • Optional Reflective 3'' High Silver Scotchlite Iron On Letters (BD030): These letters are designed to provide high visibility and durability, ensuring that you stay safe and seen in the toughest conditions.
  • Optional FR Neoprene Knee Pads (BD031): Enhance your protection and comfort with optional flame-resistant neoprene knee pads, designed to provide additional cushioning and durability during intense firefighting operations.

Care Instructions

To ensure the longevity and performance of your PGI Fireline Wildland Gear Coat, follow these care instructions:

  • Washing: Machine wash in warm water. Avoid using hot water to prevent damage to the reflective trim and fabric.
  • Drying: Tumble dry on a low setting. This helps reduce the risk of shrinkage and maintains the integrity of the fabric.
  • Bleach: Do not use bleach, as it can degrade the fabric and reflective trim.
  • Fabric Softeners: Avoid using fabric softeners, which can affect the flame-resistant properties of the coat.
  • Ironing: Do not iron the coat, as high heat can damage the fabric.
  • Dry Cleaning: Dry cleaning is not recommended, as the process may harm the reflective trim and fabric.
  • Sunlight: Keep the coat out of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent fading and degradation of the fabric.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the coat’s condition.
