What it is

The HyFin® Vent Chest Seal is a prehospital medical device designed to treat open and tension pneumothorax caused by penetrating chest trauma. Its 3‑channel vent system prevents air from entering the chest cavity while allowing air and fluids to escape, helping restore proper respiratory function.

How it is used

  1. Clean the wound using the included gauze.
  2. Use the large red pull tab to peel open the seal.
  3. Apply directly over the wound; the transparent backing helps ensure correct positioning.
  4. The 3‑channel vents maintain one‑way movement of air and fluids, reducing the risk of tension pneumothorax.
  5. In Twin Pack applications, apply one seal to the entry wound and one to the exit wound if present.
