Hoverfly Sentry is a tethered VTOL multirotor sUAS designed for persistent aerial surveillance and secure communications. Powered from the ground via a resilient tether, it delivers continuous multi-day operation and is deployable from vehicles, buildings, or ground stations. It is a mission-critical solution for ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) and VHA (Vehicle-Held Antenna) operations, especially in GPS-denied environments.
How is it used?
Hoverfly Sentry is deployed in tactical and strategic scenarios requiring persistent aerial presence. It is mounted on vehicles, rooftops, or ground stations and launched to provide ISR and communications relay. Operators use handheld tablets or networked systems to control the unit, which autonomously manages flight and landing. It is ideal for base security, target identification, and teaming with other unmanned systems.
Who uses it?
Military forces, homeland security, emergency responders, and tactical communication teams rely on Hoverfly Sentry for reliable aerial surveillance and communications. It is especially valuable in combat zones, disaster response, and remote operations.
Maintenance information
Hoverfly Sentry supports field maintenance with a spares kit and has a 1500-hour maintenance cycle. Components are easily replaceable without specialized tools. Battery backups in both the aircraft and base ensure auto-landing in case of power loss.
Storage information
The system is stored in two rugged transport cases with a total weight of 100 lbs (45 kg). Its compact and durable design allows for easy mobility and protection during transit and deployment.
