Split Water Supply Lines with Precision

Fireground water distribution can be a challenge, but our Gated Wye Valves are designed to help you quickly and efficiently split a single hose line into two, giving your crew the flexibility to direct water exactly where it’s needed. Whether you’re setting up attack lines or defensive streams, our Wyes make it easy to control water flow to multiple locations from a single source. With options like quarter-turn folding handles for quick operation or slow-close handles to prevent water hammer, these valves are built to handle the pressures of your firefighting operations.

Features

  • Versatile Water Distribution: Split a single hose line into two – directing water to multiple areas on the fireground.
  • Wide Waterway Design: Minimizes friction loss to maximize flow rate for efficient water delivery.

Valve Options:

  • Quarter-Turn: Simplifies operation under full pressure for fast and efficient deployment.
  • Slow-Close: Reduces the risk of water hammer, ensuring smoother and more controlled operation.
  • Durable Construction: Made from hard coat anodized and powder-coated aluminum alloy to withstand tough environments.
  • Easy Deployment: Two robust carrying handles make setup and repositioning hassle-free for your crew.

This valve is equipped with a single 2.5″ NHF swivel rocker inlet and double 1.5″ NHM rigid outlets, ensuring compatibility with standard firefighting equipment. The integrated pressure gauge allows for precise monitoring of water flow, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. The silver finish not only adds a sleek look but also provides additional durability.

Installation Instructions

Preparation

    • Ensure all equipment is clean and free of debris.
    • Verify that the valve and hose connections are compatible with your existing setup.

Connecting the Inlet

    • Attach the single 2.5″ NHF swivel rocker inlet to the water supply source.
    • Tighten the connection securely to prevent leaks.

Connecting the Outlets

    • Attach the double 1.5″ NHM rigid outlets to the desired hose lines.
    • Ensure both connections are tight and secure.

Positioning the Valve

    • Use the robust carrying handles to position the valve in the desired location.
    • Ensure the valve is stable and easily accessible for operation.

Operation

    • For quarter-turn valves, rotate the handle to open or close the valve quickly.
    • For slow-close valves, turn the handle gradually to control the water flow and prevent water hammer.

Monitoring

    • Use the integrated pressure gauge to monitor water pressure and ensure optimal flow.
    • Adjust the valve as needed to maintain the desired pressure and flow rate.

Maintenance

Regular Inspections

    • Visual Check: Regularly inspect the valve for any visible signs of wear, damage, or corrosion.
    • Connection Points: Ensure all connections are tight and free from leaks.

Cleaning

    • External Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the valve with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
    • Internal Cleaning: Periodically flush the valve with clean water to remove any internal debris that may affect performance.

Lubrication

    • Moving Parts: Apply a suitable lubricant to the moving parts of the valve, such as the handles and swivel joints, to ensure smooth operation.
    • Frequency: Lubricate as needed, especially after heavy use or exposure to harsh conditions.

Pressure Gauge

    • Calibration: Check the calibration of the pressure gauge regularly to ensure accurate readings.
    • Replacement: Replace the pressure gauge if it becomes damaged or fails to provide accurate readings.

Storage

    • Dry Environment: Store the valve in a dry environment to prevent corrosion and damage.
    • Protective Cover: Use a protective cover to shield the valve from dust and environmental elements when not in use.

Operational Testing

    • Function Test: Periodically test the valve to ensure it operates correctly under pressure.
    • Flow Test: Conduct a flow test to verify that the valve splits water efficiently and maintains the desired flow rate.

Repairs

    • Professional Service: If the valve shows signs of significant wear or damage, have it serviced by a professional to ensure it is repaired correctly.
    • Replacement Parts: Use only genuine replacement parts from Task Force Tips to maintain the valve's performance and safety standards.
