The FOAMATE 2.1 is an around-the-pump Class B foam proportioning system that installs on the discharge side of a fire pump. It uses a brass eductor and metering valve to inject foam concentrate into the water stream at selectable 1%, 3%, or 6% ratios, making foam solution available at every discharge outlet on the apparatus.

How is it used?
The FOAMATE 2.1 is operated by engaging the fire pump, establishing water flow, and opening the water supply valve to the eductor. The operator then sets the metering valve to the desired flow and injection percentage and opens the foam concentrate supply valve from either the on-board tank or an external source. Foam solution is then delivered through all discharge outlets. After use, the system is shut down and flushed with clean water to remove residual foam concentrate.
Who used it?
The FOAMATE 2.1 is used on fire apparatus by fire departments and emergency response teams that require Class B foam capability for flammable liquid and hazardous materials incidents.
Maintenance Information
The FOAMATE 2.1 requires minimal maintenance due to its simple mechanical design. It is strongly recommended that the system be thoroughly flushed with clean water after each use to prevent dried foam concentrate from affecting valve operation. No additional routine maintenance is required beyond periodic inspection and flushing.
Storage Information
When not in use, the system remains installed on the apparatus. Proper flushing after operation ensures that foam concentrate does not remain in the eductor or metering valve during storage. Foam concentrate should be stored according to manufacturer recommendations in the on-board tank or approved external containers.
