What is it?

The EMI Emergency Burn Kit is a compact, responder‑ready burn management kit that equips you to treat moderate to life‑threatening burns on scene. Both kits use low‑adherent, water‑based gel dressings that cool and remove heat, help relieve pain, and reduce contamination, and all supplies are organized in a 1000‑Denier Cordura® nylon carry case with multiple compartments and a shoulder strap for rapid deployment.

How is it used?

  1. Expose & assess the burn; use EMS shears to cut away clothing and jewelry.
  2. Cool & cover with the included burn dressings (water‑based gel, low‑adherent) to remove heat and protect the wound surface.
  3. Protect eyes if involved using sterile eyewash and eye pads.
  4. Wrap & secure with sterile conforming bandages; cover larger areas with the 60" × 96" burn sheet.
  5. Prevent hypothermia with the thermal rescue blanket after cooling.

Who uses it?

First Responders (LEO/Fire/EMS), School Resource Officers, athletic safety teams, and industrial EHS programs that need a mobile burn management kit that fits in rigs, command vehicles, or wall cabinets. Dimensions and carry options support vehicle and station staging.

What is it used with?

Trauma kits, airway kits, and PPE during fireground, industrial, or public events; the burn kit complements general first aid and mass‑casualty modules. (Kits are frequently paired with standard first‑aid/trauma response programs and carried in rigs or wall cabinets.)

What material is it made from?

  • Outer bag: 1000‑Denier Cordura® nylon (durable, abrasion‑resistant).
  • Dressings: Water‑based gel, low‑adherent burn dressings designed to cool and protect the wound bed

Maintenance information

  • After use: Replace any opened dressings, eyewash bottles, and used PPE; check the burn sheet and blanket for contamination.
  • Routine checks: Inspect case zippers/straps, verify eyewash and dressing expiry/shelf status, and restock to full count. (Kits ship stocked; readiness depends on post‑incident restock.)
