What is it?

The Elkhart Brass 188-XD is a long-barrel, single smooth bore tip designed for fire-service nozzle applications.

The 188-XD features a 1.5" inlet and a 7" (177 mm) overall length. The XD design incorporates lightweight aluminum construction, a molded urethane bumper, laser-etched flow-rate markings, and additional knurling for grip and control.

With a 1.5" FNH inlet and bore size of:

How is it used?

The 188-XD is installed as the smooth bore discharge tip on a compatible fire-service nozzle or shutoff equipped with the appropriate male connection.

Water passes through the fixed circular bore at the end of the tip. The selected bore diameter determines the discharge opening.

The long-barrel design provides a 7" overall tip length, while additional exterior knurling helps improve grip and control during handling.

Because each model has a fixed bore diameter, firefighters can select the appropriate size for their department's nozzle configuration and operating requirements.
