What is it?
Dräger Gas Detection Tubes are precision glass tubes filled with chemical reagents that react with specific gases or vapors to produce a visible color change. Used with a manual or automatic pump, these tubes provide quick and accurate spot measurements of airborne contaminants in workplace environments, confined spaces, and emergency response scenarios.
How is it used?
Insert the tube into a compatible Dräger pump such as the Accuro or X-act® 5000. Draw a specified number of strokes of air through the tube. Observe the color change and compare it to the printed scale to determine the concentration of the target gas. Each tube is pre-calibrated and designed for single-use testing.
Who uses it?
Industrial hygienists, safety professionals, hazmat teams, fire departments, environmental engineers, and confined space entry crews use Dräger tubes for air quality testing, leak detection, and exposure monitoring.
Maintenance information
Dräger tubes require no calibration, batteries, or maintenance. Pumps should be inspected regularly for proper function. Tubes must be stored in a cool, dry place and used before their expiration date. Used tubes should be disposed of according to local hazardous waste guidelines.
What is it used with?
Dräger tubes are used with the Dräger Accuro manual pump or the Dräger X-act® 5000 automatic pump. Some tubes may also be compatible with simultaneous test kits or specialized sampling systems for multi-gas detection.
What material is it made from?
Each tube is made from high-quality glass and contains a proprietary chemical reagent specific to the target gas. The reagents are formulated to produce a clear colorimetric reaction for easy visual interpretation.
