Cobra™ Carbon Shield™ Hood - Ultimate™

The Cobra™ Carbon Shield™ Hood Ultimate™ is designed for maximum protection and comfort. This double-ply hood has an extra length covering the head, chest, shoulders, and shoulder blades, ensuring enhanced protection. The flat-stitched seams eliminate bunching and prevent discomfort, while the half-inch-wide elastic face opening stretches to a full 16 inches, ensuring a snug fit around most SCBA masks. This hood is UL Classified to the NFPA 1971-Current Standard on Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting.

• Flame Resistant: Carbon Shield™ fabric won’t burn in air and remains dimensionally stable after 90 seconds of extreme heat exposure.

Construction

• Two Layers of Knit Fabric: The entire hood is composed of two layers for added protection.
• Contoured Fit: The hood is seamed from the top of the face opening to the back bottom hem for a contoured fit.
• Smooth Transition Bib: The bib is an extension of the hood for a smooth transition and reduced bulk at the neckline.
• Elasticized Face Opening: The face opening is circular and serged with x-heavy duty 1/2” wide elastic around the perimeter. The elastic is then folded back 1/2” and cover-stitched. The face opening stretches 25% more than conventional hoods for easy donning and a snug fit around the face of the SCBA mask. The face opening maintains its original shape after repeated laundering.
• Gusset at Shoulders: A gusset was added at the shoulders to provide complete shoulder coverage and a smoother drape.
• Bound Bib Edge: The bottom edge of the bib is bound with self-material bias binding.

• EN13911: 2017 compliant.
