The Challenger Forcible Entry Training Door System provides fire departments with a complete, realistic, and cost-effective way to train personnel in the most important and challenging forcible entry skills. Built for both new recruits and experienced firefighters, this system delivers hands-on practice using real tools and mechanisms while keeping consumable costs extremely low.

Fully mobile and designed for daily use, the Challenger provides unmatched versatility in a single training platform. It includes patented features such as the K-12 plunge-cut window and commercial- and residential-deadbolt lock pull-simulation systems. This allows your crews to train across a wide range of real-world scenarios without requiring multiple props.

Departments choose the Challenger because it creates consistent, repeatable, and lifelike training conditions that build confidence, speed, and safety.

Why Departments Choose the Challenger

Train 11 real forcible entry functions in one system

Includes inward and outward forcing, hinge cutting, rebar cutting, lock cutting and breaking, hydraulic forcing, plunge cutting, through-the-lock entry, and more.

Keeps training costs low

Reuse lock simulators 60 to 80 times. Plunge-cut plates last for up to 25 cuts. The average training cost is less than $5 per student for ten procedures.

Fully mobile with no disassembly required

The patented 3rd-wheel system allows a single person to move the unit easily between training locations.

Built for realism and durability

Actual lock mechanisms, commercial-grade materials, and heavy-duty construction deliver true-to-life scenarios that prepare firefighters for the conditions they will encounter in the field.

Designed for firefighter safety

Provides safe practice of high-risk techniques such as plunge cutting, hinge cutting, and K-12 saw control while reinforcing proper body mechanics.

Features

  • K-12 Rebar Cutting Station: Cut up to 3/4 inch #6 rebar at multiple angles and heights to simulate window and door security bars.

Ideal For

  • Fire academies
  • Department training divisions
  • Recruit classes
  • Quarterly and skills refresh training
  • Multi-company drills
  • Mutual aid regional training groups

Eleven of the most common yet rarely mastered forcible-entry functions are included in a single training system.

K-12 Saw Tree Side

They are used for cutting up to 3/4" #6 rebar at three different heights and angles. This feature simulates cutting security bars on doors and windows to gain access. It also provides an excellent opportunity for K-12 saw training and to teach proper body ergonomics when using the K-12 in different positions, reducing fatigue and the risk of injury.

Hinge or Flat Plate Cutting Simulator

Cut and pull commercial hinges, pull hinge pins, and cut flat plates up to 5" x 3/8" thick. Using a flat plate is just as realistic and a much cheaper alternative to hinges.

Combination and Pad Lock Cutting/Breaking

It shows how to cut, strike, and break the keyed and combination locks that are sometimes encountered on doors, gates, and hatches.

Commercial Rim Lock Pulling Simulator

Use your "K" tool as designed and pull our commercial rim-style lock simulators. These simulators can be pulled 60-80 times (depending on the user's aggressiveness) before replacement is necessary.

Commercial/Residential DeadboltLock Pulling Simulator (patented)

Use your "R" tool as designed and pull our commercial/residential deadbolt-style lock simulators. These simulators can and have been pulled 60-80 times (depending on the user's aggressiveness) before replacement is necessary.

Through-the-Lock Simulator

This simulator allows the student or firefighter to manipulate actual commercial storefront and residential deadbolt latch mechanisms after the lock simulators have been removed, completing the through-the-lock forcible entry task.

K-12 Plunge Cut Window (patented)

This feature demonstrates plunge-cutting steel commercial doors with a K-12 saw that utilizes panic bar hardware. Use a framing square to align the cut groove, then hook and release the panic bar to open the door. You can achieve up to 25 cuts per plate before replacement is required. This feature may also be used with glass or plexiglass to meet other NFPA 1001 JPRs for window forcible entry.

Custom Built Heavy-Duty Panic Bar

The real operating panic bar is used in conjunction with the plunge-cutting simulator described in the K-12 Plunge Cut Window.

Hydraulic Forcible Entry

Designed for all Hydraulic Rabbet tools, both manual and battery-operated. (THE DOOR IS NOT DESIGNED FOR BATTERING RAM USE)

Inward Forcing

This feature uses an automatic, realistic spring-loaded 3/4" latch bolt and a wooden 2x2 for realistic resistance breaching. This feature may be used with or without the wooden 2"x2".

Outward Forcing

This feature uses an automatic, realistic, spring-loaded 3/4" latch bolt and a wooden 2x2 for realistic resistance breaching. It may also be used with or without the wooden 2x2.
