What is it?

The Cairns 1836 is a traditional-style structural firefighting helmet made from a fiberglass composite shell. It’s engineered to provide protection against heat, impact, and debris while maintaining a low-profile, balanced fit.

How is it used?

Firefighters wear the Cairns 1836 during active fire response. The helmet protects the head, face, and neck. The Defender® Visor deploys easily with gloved hands and stows inside the helmet when not in use. The Shell Release System ensures the impact cap remains on the head during extreme events like falls or collapses.

Who uses it?

Used by structural firefighters, fire departments, and emergency response teams across North America. It’s recognized as “best in class” by fire service professionals
