Usage

The BigBoy Hose Monster® is used for:

• Fire Flow Testing of Hydrants: Ensures accurate measurement of water flow from fire hydrants to verify performance and compliance
• Water Main Flushing: Effective for flushing water mains to maintain water quality and system integrity
• Fire Pump Testing: Suitable for testing fire pumps from connections 4″ or larger

How to Use

1. Prepare the Equipment: Ensure the BigBoy Hose Monster® and all necessary accessories are in good condition.
2. Connect to Hose: Attach the hose to the BigBoy Hose Monster® using the 4″ NH connection. Ensure a secure and tight connection.
3. Position the Hose Monster®: Place the BigBoy Hose Monster® in a stable position to manage the water discharge safely.
4. Begin Testing: Open the water source gradually to start the flow. Monitor the flow rate using the integrated gauge.
5. Monitor and Record: Observe the flow rate and record the necessary data for your testing requirements.

Installation

Tools Needed:

• Wrench: To tighten connections
• Teflon Tape: To ensure a tight seal and prevent leaks

Installation Steps:

1. Apply Teflon Tape: Wrap Teflon tape around the threads of the hose connections to ensure a tight seal.
2. Attach the Hose Monster®:
   1. Hose Connection: Securely attach the hose to the 4″ NH connection on the BigBoy Hose Monster®.
   2. Verify Connections: Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent leaks.

Maintenance and Storage

Maintenance:

• Regular Inspection: Periodically check the BigBoy Hose Monster® for signs of wear or damage. Clean the internal components to ensure accurate flow measurements.
• Lubrication: Apply lubricant to the fittings to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
