Application

The SOLBERG 3% MIL-SPEC SFFF is ideal for military land-based operations and can be used with low-expansion discharge devices, including a variety of nozzles and monitors. It is fully compatible with standard firefighting equipment and easily proportioned for effective use.

SOLBERG 3% MIL‑SPEC SFFF is ideal for:

  • Military airfields and aviation facilities
  • Fuel spill and fire response operations
  • Ground‑based aircraft maintenance areas
  • Fuel storage facilities and tank farms
  • Emergency response teams transitioning away from AFFF
  • This product is not intended for Class A structural firefighting, but rather optimized for Class B flammable liquid hazards encountered in aviation and fuel handling environments.

What Makes SOLBERG 3% MIL‑SPEC SFFF Different?

SOLBERG® 3% MIL‑SPEC SFFF (Synthetic Fluorine‑Free Firefighting Foam) is engineered to meet modern military firefighting requirements without relying on fluorinated chemistry. Unlike traditional AFFF foams, which depend on PFAS‑based fluorosurfactants to rapidly suppress hydrocarbon fires, SFFF technology uses advanced hydrocarbon surfactants to achieve fast knockdown, vapor suppression, and burnback resistance—without environmental persistence.

This formulation meets MIL‑PRF‑32725 (I1), which was developed specifically to transition military firefighting operations away from PFAS while maintaining operational effectiveness for gasoline and Jet A fuel spill fires encountered at airfields, fuel farms, and ground operations.

Fast Knockdown Performance

Engineered to rapidly control and extinguish gasoline and Jet A spill fires in accordance with MIL‑PRF‑32725 (I1) performance criteria.

Fluorine‑Free Technology

Contains no intentionally added PFAS, no silicone or siloxane chemistry, and is non‑persistent in the environment, supporting PFAS phase‑out initiatives.

Superior Vapor Suppression

Forms a stable foam blanket that effectively seals fuel surfaces and suppresses flammable vapors, reducing re‑ignition risk.

Biodegradable Formulation

Designed to break down naturally over time, minimizing long‑term environmental impact compared to traditional fluorinated foams.

GreenScreen® Certified Silver

Independently certified to meet stringent environmental and human health standards.

Newtonian Viscosity

Maintains consistent flow characteristics, allowing dependable proportioning with common firefighting equipment.

Multi‑System Compatibility

Compatible with:

  • Low‑expansion nozzles and monitors
  • In‑line inductors
  • Self‑inducting nozzles
  • Fire truck pumps
  • Bladder tanks
  • Pump skids
  • Balanced pressure proportioning systems
